Winnipeg Jazz Fest 2015

Went down to the Exchange for the Winnipeg Jazz Festival opening weekend and contacted a friend of mine that was playing. He was able to get me some extra access to shoot back stage and what limited space they had beside the stage.

This was my first time out really shooting something at night with awkward lighting with the A7ii. I had heard that it didn't do very well in low light, so, I was nervous to see how it would go. I only have my 35mm 2.8 Zeiss Sonnar for a lens, so I had to make the work for the night. It was a good way to jump right into shooting with a lot of perimeters cause it really makes you think about how and where your shooting from.

I thought the A7ii did a great job handling the low and changing light scenario. I had no problem bumping up the ISO and the photos came out fairly well for a first go at it. There are definitely a few things looking back that I would have done differently, but, that will just have to wait till next time.

Here are a few of the ones I liked, the Vikings killed it, not so sure I did, let me know!
