I think so far this is my favourite view of Winnipeg that I've seen first hand. It kind of reinforces that idea that a sick view doesn't necessarily mean the highest possible view. It’s all about location! One of the things that made me appreciate the city more is seeing it from some of these angles. I have a theory, not sure it it has any scientific truth to it, but, I feel like the size of our downtown area seeming so small to us is a little bit of an illusion. I think it seems small because we are so flat topographically that we don’t really realize the depth of the buildings and how many are actually around because they get hidden behind one another. Obviously I’m not saying we are some huge major city by any means, but you definitely get a different appreciation for the size when you get higher up. One of the places that always gets me, is the view coming over the Disraeli Bridge. But I’d recommend hitting whatever you can that you can get some elevation, parkades, ect.

The reason I dig this spot in particular, is because the line of sight looks straight down to Portage and Main, and until I went to this spot I had never seen a shot from this side of the city. It is equally rad during the day as well, but I think that any time you can get traffic long exposures and a city, you gotta take it!

Shout out @carlosbartol for hanging out on Twitch while I edited this one and helping me get the audio/video all figured out. Should all be good to go for a session one weekend coming up! 🍻
