The Twin Cities

Last weekend my girlfriend and a few friends of ours headed down to Minneapolis for a festival that we attend annually called Soundset. This year was my 6th year in a row going, and I don't intend for the streak to stop anytime soon.

As you will come to know, I have an extreme love for the Twin Cities. Something about that city is everything that I'm about. I feel so at ease there, it just feels like it is where I should be, it feels like home. I've decided to make a little challenge and goal for myself to hopefully move there by the time I'm 30. That's 4 years. I think I can make it happen!

Anyway, the city just inspires me to just shoot... A LOT. Everything just seems to present itself to you as if it's just asking to be photographed, I LOVE IT! So that is exactly what I did, and here are a few of the photos from the weekend, I can't wait to go back!

Kids & Carnivals

I've been wanting to go out and shoot a young one just having some fun at a fair, or carnival, or whatever you call these things for a while now. Last weekend I made a day to go out and shoot my friends son Owen running around terrorizing the place.

This was basically my first time really getting out on an actual shoot with my new Sony A7ii, and I LOVED it. The only thing that I'm going to have to buy coming up is a grip and batteries cause it ate my battery real fast. Aside from that, it was great, and I think I got a few keepers that she was stoked on.

Here are a few of my favourites, what do you think?

First Entry!

Hello world.

I have tried a few times to create a website for my photography in hopes of building a business. Making a career out of something that I have a passion for, in turn, making my "job" something that doesn't feel like a job.

The last few times I didn't feel like I had the confidence I needed to persist and keep putting my work out there, so I always ended up just abandoning the page. This time I am setting a goal of a year to start. 365 days to build this for me, not to make money or start a business, but to give me an outlet to showcase my images and my passion.

If that in the end gets me a few e-mails to go out and shoot with people, collaborate with other photographers or artists, I'll be ecstatic.

This The Come Up.
